Our Mission
We are a private, non-profit environmental education facility that aims to spread the joy of nature and the outdoor world.
Our Story
We opened in the Spring of 2020 by a grassroots effort from local community members who want to see conservation education remain a legacy in our slice of the Atlanta Metro area. Our goal is to teach people of all ages in our community about our environment so they may cultivate a personal awareness, appreciation of, and participation in the natural world, especially of our native ecosystems. We teach a wide range of environmental and wildlife sciences, including zoology, botany, and ecology. We encourage community participation and volunteerism.
Though nestled in rural, mixed hardwood forest, we are only 20 minutes from the Hartsfield-Atlanta Airport in Atlanta, Georgia. We are near Fulton, Fayette, Coweta, Carroll, and Douglas counties. Weβre proud to be the only nature center in Georgia with a live native bat exhibit, and the only live bat program in this part of the state. We work with local herpetological rescues and state and federal wildlife agencies to provide a home for our resident animal ambassadors which include exotic and non-releasable native reptiles, amphibians, and birds of prey.
